Brown Institute for Media Innovation Honored with 2015 AIA NY Chapter Interiors Merit Award
The David and Helen Gurley Brown Institute for Media Innovation at Pulitzer Hall, part of the Columbia Journalism School, was awarded a 2015 Interiors Merit Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) New York Chapter.
Designed by LTL Architects, the Brown Institute opened its doors in fall 2014. The new space provides the Journalism School with a technology-driven multimedia newsroom that will merge the delivery of multiple journalistic disciplines within the context of the changing media landscape.
The space is designed to meet the Institute’s mission to develop innovations within a networked, digitized world.
The Brown Institute for Media Innovation is a collaboration between the Journalism School and Stanford University.
AIA New York’s annual Design Awards Program recognizes outstanding architectural design by AIA New York Chapter members, New York City based architects in any location, and work in New York City by architects around the globe. The purpose of the awards program is to honor the architects, clients, and consultants who work together to achieve design excellence.
All 35 2015 AIA-NY winning projects will be on view at the Center for Architecture, 536 LaGuardia Place in Greenwich Village, in the 2015 Design Awards exhibition. The exhibition will open on April 23rd and be on view through June 17, 2015.
