ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The University received a National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant and a NYSTAR ARRA matching funding grant to renovate infrastructure serving the Data Center that is housed within the Computer Center Building 3020 Broadway on the 200 level to provide a new Core Research Computing Facility (CRCF). The infrastructure renovation will support the upgrade of the existing 1963 Data Center to the CRCF for Biomedical and Behavioral research computing needs.  Funds received from the NIH and University sources will be used to upgrade the power in order to expand capacity to consolidate physically dispersed computer clusters into a single, more efficient and sustainable facility.

The project scope will include the construction of a new electrical platform 1,500 sq ft in the grove area outside the computer center. The electrical platform will span between the Computer Center & the Dodge Gym and attached to both Building. New infrastructure will include electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and siding.

LOCATION: 119th Street between Amsterdam and Broadway (in the Grove)

SQUARE FOOTAGE: 1,500 gross square foot
