South Lawn Status

South Field West: Closed

South Field East: Closed

Hamilton Lawn: Closed

Furnald Lawn: Closed

****  All lawns will be closed for the winter season. Throughout the next few weeks, the south fields will we covered with turf blankets. Turf blankets speed the germination and growth of turf by retaining warmth and moisture. This creates an environment similar to that in a greenhouse. The blankets are porous and allow sunlight, air, water and nutrients through to the turf.

During early fall and late spring, the goal in lower campus is to have at least one of the large South Field lawns and one of the smaller lawns accessible every day, condition dependent.
