Public Safety's Security Awareness Fair 2011

Despite the bad weather, Columbians came to Low Plaza on September 7, 2011 to take part in Public Safety's Annual Security Awareness Day. Approximately 97 bikes, laptops, cell phones, and other electronics were registered with the NYPD / CU Operation ID program.

Students, faculty, and staff were given the opportunity to talk one-on-one with security, police, and fire professionals from the NYPD, FDNY, U.S. Postal Inspectors, and Columbia. In addition, attendees were able to join our effective crime prevention programs, including:

  • Operation ID (Property engraving) - register your Laptops, MP3 players and more! Property registered with the NYPD & CUFREE
  • NYPD Blue Light Program (Invisible Ink) - register your property with the NYPD & CUFREE
  • FREE Bike Registration & FREE Bike Tune Up

Public Safety will be visiting the various schools on campus to once again offer the same services. Dates, times, and locations will be e-mailed to the community. For more information on Public Safety, visit http://www.columbia.edu/cu/publicsafety/
